Simon Pfeffel - Performance "Türen Schließen 2"Türen schließen # IV
Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe. October 10, 2013; 19.00 o´clock. Photos: Pietro Pellini/ I produce an intimate space by this situation, which is open for the recicpient. So he is able to influence or even to destroy this situation by knocking off the metal rod. The circumstances are held by this tension in a permanent state of limbo. The performance lasts one hour.

Gewohnter Wille II, Karlsruhe
One-hour performance, October 19, 2013/ The two groups keep eye contact for 60 minutes, each lying actor to the standing actor. The standing actor doen´t respond to questions or other contact attempts from outside. The lying actor reacts only by writing or drawing into the lying A4 booklet. Here he/ she documents his/her experiences and observations without losing eye contact to the standing actor. >read more<

Searching for and getting suitable stones. We found two suitable stones on two  respective opposite mountains. We carried these in a social process with several actors and put them on a path. The stones were thereby converted from a natural into a cultivated condition. 2. A four-day sculptural shaping process: during this I prepare my body for the performance. This is an existentially part of my performance. 3. A two-hour performance, during which I stay in the horizontal position about 15 – 20 minutes. Small breaks occur when the body relaxes. The brakes are part of the performance. LiegenBayrischerWald

I turn a six meters square metal rod into a circle. In an almost one hour-long process I reduce the radius of this circle as far as the material itself, my strength, and the given circumstances admit. The plot ends when my sweaty palms lose grip on the metal rod. I fix the situation after the performance with tape. Thus the created object is merely the outcome of the action. PerformanceBiegen2sw
